Me, Me, Me — oh, and some other things (about me)
If you haven’t heard (and I don’t know why you wouldn’t have heard since its been all over my facebook, AIM, twitter, gchat, etc, etc etc), I’ve applied to be the next lifestyle correspondent for Murphy-Goode winery in Healdsburg, California. Take a moment and vote if you haven’t and send it on to five of your friends. I’m already in the top 50, but I need to get even higher before the web voting closes on Friday. You can see my video and vote here.
Otherwise, I am trucking along. In the interest of not putting all of ones eggs in one basket, I’m also applying for adjunct lecturing positions in religion and philosophy. So, if anyone knows of anyone who is hiring, let me know.
Personal Goal Progress
So I’ve been spending so much time traipsing about the city that I have failed to even take stock of my personal goals since I started writing this blog. So lets take stock of our progress, shall we:
- Learn French – Oops. I have not even gotten Rosetta Stone French. Due to low funds, however, this is going to have to wait until the end of the month.
- Brush up on my Spanish – See above.
- Exercise obsessive compulsively – Great progress has been made with my training for the New York City Triathlon. I ran/walked six miles yesterday, am up to swimming 3/4 mile and am biking 24 miles. I just actually obtained my wetsuit and danced about in my apartment in it Silence of the Lambs style earlier today.
I’m training with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training to help eliminate blood cancers. If anyone would like to make a donation, you can do so by clicking here.
- Teach Mr. J to walk on a leash - I was about to give up on this one, since the first time I showed Mr. J the harness he literally ran behind the toilet, but I’m proud to say that I actually have made progress with the help of organic baby carrots. Right now Mr. J will only let me drape the harness over him, but not fasten it, but I think we’ll make progress by next week. Hopefully video updates to follow.

- Tan – Unfortunately being that it is monsoon season in New York City, I have been unable to lay out on the Great Lawn as originally planned.
- Work on publishing articles on travel and culture – We’re on our way!
- Study for the GRE - I’m re-evaluating whether I am going to take the test right now, I already have a ton going on.
- Go to one museum a week - Museum of Sex (check), Met Museum (check), MoMA this week!
- Find a way to become rich and famous, thus eliminating the need to ever work again – Well on our way!

And…we’re …back!

Kelly’s show, Things Left Behind with the G-Train Salon, at Urban Alchemist (343 Fifth Street @ Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) went splendidly, thanks to everyone who made it. And great news — her chickenheads and pop pigs will be a permanent installment at Urban Alchemist.

The rest of her collection will not be, however, so get yourself down to Urban Alchemist before the end of the month to get yourself some amazing one of a kind jewelry, photographs, and ceramics.
